How do you know when you are ready to tie the knot? I'm pregnant with our first child and me and the father are engaged, but I'm not sure if I should make it a long engagement or get married sooner. How do you know when you are really ready?

my husband and I didn't get married until some time after our baby was born and I'm truly glad we waited because I never have to think "he married me because we were having a baby" He married me because he wanted to be with me.
As far as knowing, its different for everyone, but you usually do feel it

Sounds like your having doubts or reservations about marrying him is what is sounds like to me. Otherwise, I believe that Vegas would be but a road trip away.
