I have a ballcap and i want to make it look dingy and faded... How can you weather a ballcap in a relatively short time?

throw it in the wash a couple times

I know at some parks here there are playgrounds with sand at the bottom , and I know if you fall and stuff if will leave dirt stains on kids pants, maybe you could put your hat in that and rub if lightly on the ends and in the corner of the bill of the hat to give it a weathered look. Be sure to wash it after this process.

Wear it on your foot?

Washing it several times usually helps. Rub it with a pumic stone, or take a belt sander to it.

Tie it to the back of your car and drive thru the dirt. Then wash it hard.

Try a fine cheese grater to soften & add the brushed effect to the fabric. Also creates cool "worn" edges on brim & jean hems!

use sandpaper, just rub it down when you're watching tv or something, at the next commercial, voila!
