Child protection should be everybody's business but it does not appear to be on any political agenda and this is disappointing.

And how many letters or phone calls did you generate when Janet Reno sent that boy back to Cuba?

Sometimes the government is the WORST option for dealing with child protection. You take care of yours, I'll take care of mine !

Howard doesn't care about people, he only cares for the economy. Children cannot be productive and contribute to the overall economics of this country! Thats why he hasn't mentioned youth, homelessness, unemployed, abused children, disabilites. Doesn't anyone understand the neo-conservative ideology(Liberal government in Aust) and what it stands for. People are a commoditiy and if you cant make money you are useless to them (it promotes power and greed, the base of all the problems in the world!). You can tell by the many Liberal answers that they have no real clue on just how the Liberal governmnet works! Sad but true, and uninformed people continue to vote for Howard!

And yes it is because they cannot vote, why do you think Howard quickly changed the enrollment date at the start of the election to eliminate thousands of young people from enrolling. This is because young people tend to be more informed on current issues, not blinded by their wallet size, and vote Labor!

Child Protection Is on agenda, however any presence is smothered by race card.

The NT intervention issues are basic child care and family protection issues, yet these are being played out as racial issues...

So many problems in communities (NT and states) were ignored, avoided, bu Commonwealth and States thanks to rabid usage of racial cards.

Families in NT are still denied basic human rights such as right to live together as a family, right to have other family members visit, by abusage of racial tests...

Exact same racist behaviour people of Australia voted overwhelmingly with as their purpose the elimination from their constitution of such practices, both at Federation and again in 1967 !

Commonwealth and States continue racial discrimination, denial of basic human rights, supporting segregation of families using racial tests... all this of course with the same old excuse it is being done to help families....

Sadly for NT is finally get Commonwealth Minister [Mal Brough] prepared to address seriously the problems, so to sort things out then his actions are targetted for political purposes to prevent these problems being addressed and perhaps resolved.

Warren Snowdon ALP - Member for the Land Councils, is telling people ALP will undo actions giving people enforceable leases for their homes in the communities...

Undoing these leases because these leases actually will give people rights !

IF people get rights, they may wish to exercise them !

So we can not have people getting rights !
