While HP doesn't offer a print driver for Vista for that printer, they have instructions on how to get it to work, even though you may not get all of the features on the printer.

Here's their instructions:

You need to use the built in HP Deskjet 5600 driver.

Microsoft doesn't offer discounts on new printers, although the printer manufacturers must LOVE them for killing so many old printers in Vista.

HP has directions for installing your printer (7600 series) in Windows Vista on their web site.

When looking for driver files, always go to the manufacturer's website. HP has instructions for setting this printer up in Vista.

either goto the manufacturers website and download drivers for your printer compatable w/ vista or buy a different printer or "downgrade" vista and install windows XP or switch to Ubuntu Linux (its a free OS!!!!)

Contact HP and see if they have an updated driver that handles Vista.

And, when you decide to get a new computer, consider getting a Macintosh. Chances are you would be using your favorite printer without any hassles.

There is no Vista driver for your printer, but you can use an alternate driver already installed in Vista:

go to the hp site and see if there are updates.

if that fails, call hp.

vista really shouldn't make any peripherals obsolete.
