Yes they do to a large extent. But nothing is 100% fool proof.

Condoms can break and stuff which is more likely than an ovary releasing an egg if you take your pills religiously. They're both very effective, but I believe BC is slightly more so.

Both are in the 90% - 95% effective if use properly!!

Nothing is 100% effective against pregnancy.

if used properly it is just as effective. unless you are in a serious long term committed relationship and you know 100% that your partner is clean you should be using a condom anyways to prevent stds.
