what are the most essential things that someone might need when they first move out of their parents house?

My sister is moving out, so i want to buy her something nice for her new apartment, any recommendations? anyone know of any 'day after thanksgiving sales'?

If this is her first time out of the house, there are a number of things she will need:

Cookware
Dishes
bedding
at least 2 buckets
cleaning supplies
towels
dish towels
seating of some sort
a table
a desk
a bed

I daresay she does own some of this stuff already. But she will need other things.

A shower curtain.
Floor or table lamp.
Microwave.
Toaster.
Can opener.
