Georgetown University isn't a college. It has four undergraduate colleges.

Anyways, personally I think Georgetown is in a great DC setting and has a powerful academic reputation. It is the most academically prestigious Roman Catholic university in the world and is by far the best university in the DC area. Georgetown has a very competitive basketball team that sets off school pride and has plenty to do in the surrounding area.

If you're interested in things like Congressional internships, this is the place to be. Georgetown is most well known for its international relations and School of Foreign Service that graduated Bill Clinton and has Madeline Albright on its faculty. The sciences are less well regarded.

It is a good school, but it is not the best in the DC area. I would not waste the extra money to go there. Probably the university of maryland college park is the best school in that area.

Of course, especially if you want to be a lawyer or go into politics. Maybe even more so for politics because you're right in the heart of it all.
