I'd say "God Save The Queen" at the moment, the epitome of punk rock, as much as I love so many other punk bands I don't think I can say this song has ever been bested, although it has been equaled. "EMI" is a close second, although the entire album and all their demos and stuff are all great.

And I disagree Huevo! In their heyday they were the cream of the crop, the punkest mofos out there. Now John Lydon is an a$s, still entertaining but for all the wrong reasons. Sid Vicious was always a tit, although he was doomed as soon as his horrible heroin addict mother gave birth to him. Jones and Cook though I think have stayed pretty reasonable although I'm not the biggest Professionals fan, and Matlock's Rich Kids were a great band.

But my jaw drops in awe every time I see a video of them from '77 when it was a home-grown band with self altered clothes and not as many complications, with the band rocking like no other before them and Rotten spitting his venom into the microphone with a snarl and snottiness never surpassed. Man were they awesome. I think I'm going to go listen to the album.

Just have to make a rant here, short and sweet, for those who heart the Pistols and miss them and all that gooey stuff: Really?! 'Cause I doubt they would have given 2 ****s about you.

Anyways, I'd have to say Pretty Vacant. But honestly they have got to be one of the most over-rated bands of all time. More style than substance, they eventually became a mockery of the punk scene that they helped to create.

Dan. I won't disagree with you about their time leading up to the creation of the band or the beginning of The Sex Pistols reign. My problem with them is Malcom McLaren and the exit of Glen Matlock from the band. The main reason Sid came in is because he looked the part. He couldn't play worth a damn and that, to me, took away any legitimacy that they might have had as musicians (and I do consider 3 chords as music and enjoy the contributions the other members have made throughout the post-Pistols career). McLaren also admitted, especially on the American tour, that he scheduled shows at establishments where there was almost guaranteed to be problems, hence enhancing their image as "bad" within the mainstream media. It's not that I don't enjoy The Sex Pistols, I just think that a lot of the hype comes from the band being heavily marketed.

I think I'm going to go for a run in the thumbs-up brigade.

Anarchy in the UK.
My opinion is that it is the core of Sex Pistols or British Punk Movement in 80's,

God Save the Queen is pretty cool. It's funny you ask that question because I was just comparing their music with Supergrass (Caught By the Fuzz).

no longer an exceedingly huge fan... "God save The Queen" is a good one even with the shown fact that. BA: The conflict, no opposition!! Tbh, i do no longer think of we would desire to consistently study them. The conflict made truly good punk music, the intercourse Pistols would desire to hardly play their instruments :P
