the dishes aren't particularly good...I don't see what the buzz is all about..and no it's not because the food being served to me sucks...my family cooks really good food..but Thanksgiving is sort of overrated for me(the food at least)

Well, I personally chow down. It's not even that the food is so different from every-day food, but the positive holiday associations we make to these certain foods that bring good memories when we prepare and eat them.

If there's something I haven't tried before, I at least try it. Even if I think I won't like it. Picky eaters are my pet peeve (and I married one!)...I think it's like living in a house with the shutters drawn all the time. All you see is what's already familiar to you. What fun is that? How are you going to learn and grow if you only stick with what you know?

Try something new. If you don't like it, oh well, at least you tried. The sun will come up tomorrow.

Thanksgiving food is an American tradition, and I happen to love it. Sorry it's underwhelming for you. Maybe over the years your opinion will change, or the good memories you are creating now will come back to you in the future and it will become more special to you.

Thanksgiving is very overrated. I hate it. It's like we expect the food to taste better or something just on THAT day... it's just dinner like every other day. I usually only eat turkey and some string bean casserole... then when you're done eating it feels anti climatic... like it was a waste of time and then you're just left with staring at relatives who you really don't want to be bothered with anyway.

I like some of the food, I mostly just enjoy the time I get to spend with my family. I really hate the leftovers though because it seems like we have to eat turkey for a whole week in order not to waste food.

No one in my family is like you. Food is the best part of thanksgiving here.

I try to eat healthy foods and do not consider meat healthy. So at Thanksgiving I eat mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, salad, pumpkin pie and cranberries. To me this is all comfort food and I love it.

I like thanksgiving food. To each his own though. I mean, I don't se how you can't eat a turkey sandwich if all else fails....

I don't eat that much either. It's just food. I don't know why everyone gets so worked up about it.
