I think the water is coming in from the spoiler. After a heavy rain, water pours out of the trunk lid when I open the trunk. I'm afraid it will rust out eventually, and I'm sick of getting soaked.

Ok then, we have tried taking the spoiler off, after the hardware was removed we were still unable to detach it.

Any small opening can fill up a trunk the spoiler is held with double sided mounting tape really stuck down. Reseal with clear silicone suggested in another answer sounds good. Then worry about the tail light bolts and wires as they to can leak jump in with a flashlight all the trunk liner removed and watch driving the car in a rain storm. Most the times there is more than one leak you won't find until you jump in and find it that way. Wrecked cars rusted rear window under the trim all can leak water in the trunk.

PULL THE SPOILER OFF AND SEAL IT UP WITH SILICONE ETC. NOT VERY DIFFICULT. THER MAY BE SOME FASTENER YOUR OVERLOOKING, OR OLD SEALANT HOLDING IT ON.
