I have to be honest... that size does make a difference. Sex can still be great either way however. It's just in a different way. There are so many other things you can do if you use your imagination and take time with it. I'm sure she will be fine once you figure out what really turns her on.

I don't think it was necessarily your size that was the problem. First off you were probably intimidated and maybe both a little nervous. Secondly her former partner was with her for a while and learned what she likes and dislikes so he probably knew how to please her better. Next time just relax and you'll probably both have more fun. Look, if you're actually 8 inches, you shouldn't have a problem. The vagina expands and contracts to fit different size penises. Most guys are about 6 inches. 7 inches is considered large for a guy. There are a lot of other things to do to please her sexually.
