Let me fathom that... Hmmm

I think that
1 fathom = 1.8288 meters
V=36.5 fth/min (1min/60s)(1.8288m/1fth)
V=1.11 m/s
you do the rest if
1 fathom = 6 feet
1mi=5280feet
I don't think you want it in parsecs...:)

One fathom = 6 feet
Diving Speed = 36.5 fat./min = 3.65 ft / sec = 2.489 mph
.................................................=======================
One metre = 3.278 ft (or) 3.65 ft = 1.113 Metre
Diving speed = 1.113 m/s
=====================
No of sec. in one year = 365.25 x 24 x 3600
Diving speed in one year = 1.113 x 365.25 x 24 x 3600 m/y
One light year = 3 x 10^8 x 3600 x 24 x 365.25 m
Hence, Diving Speed =
= (1.113x365.25x24x3600) / (3x10^8x3600x24x365.25)
= 3.71 x 10^ -7 LY / year
