Its basically every year I ask "whattcha ya want hon?" and its the standard "nothing, worry about the kids", Well the kids are older now and its time to think about the little woman this year. She's a giver and always puts herself first. Any suggestions?

you got alot of good answers from everyone. my husband askes me that every year too. i say nothing.he got me diamonds earrings one year. i loved them, but any jewery is nice , you don't have to pay alot. a weekend suprise trip is good. but during the holidays a woman is really busy , cooking, shopping, wrapping, so doing things around the house is nice, just help her out with things. or cook a nice candle light dinner for you both. i like it when my husband buy me cards that comes from his heart, i have every card my husband has bought me for the last 16 yrs. oh yea if she like to take baths, draw her up a nice candle light bath one evening when she is tired.

I nearly choked over "The little woman" part of your question. I hope this is in reference to her diminutive size and not because you think it's a cute way to describe your life partner! And why the heck can't it be expensive? Too many bills? Job doesn't pay enough? Or are you just basically cheap and you will never hear the end of it if you blow her off completely and just buy for the kids. {We say that all the time and never really mean it!}

On the other hand...if you truly are strapped for cash, and want to do something sweet because you love to see her smile...

Hire a local high-school girl to come clean your house twice a month for six months. She'll love the extra cash and your wife will love the help.

Pay attention to what she watches on cable. Cooking shows, home organizing or home make over shows, {no shopping channels- they don't count!} that will give you a clue where her secret wishes lay. DO NOT give her a gift certificate for a face make over; this sends the message that you don't like the way she looks now. If you are extraordinary brave; ask her best friend or sister {whomever she talks to all the time} to give you some ideas. Maybe a sweater she saw at the store that she just HAS to have!

1. A housekeeper once a week for a month. Clean from top to bottom, in the corners, windows etc.
2. Do the spa thing, massage, pedicure, manicure and don't forget the hair.
3. A nice piece of jewelery.
4. New bedding --sheets,comforter,(bed in the bag) and window treatments.
5. A gift card for new clothes and shoes.
6. Something for her hobby if she has one.

I could go on and on. And you could also give her one gift and add to it month to month. For example the massage for Christmas, January, the manicure, February--the pedicure and so on. The love letter is a great idea as a bonus.
Hope this helps and I hope my hubby reads this. LOL

There are so many good answers here! Personally, a day at the spa wins hands down! If you want extra points, have a maid service clean the house while she's out and then cook or take her out to dinner! Better yet, join her at the spa for a couples massage! But for your wedding anniversary, diamonds are the way to go!

The best Christmas gift my husband ever gave me (after 13 years of marriage) was a love letter. Yes, an old fashioned love letter. Tell her how you feel. Pour your heart out. She'll cry. She'll keep the letter for the rest of her life. If you need to give her something that you spend money on, than I suggest a pedicure. That will make her feel girly and special. Merry Christmas.

Clean the house for her from top to bottom. She will appriciate the work being don't for her. Write her a letter telling her why you love her and thank her for all the things she does for you and the kids. If you are looking to spend some money then get her a pass to a day spa.

It's a stupid little trinket gift for a chatty Cathy back at the office. Nothing more. If he is writing checks for $80k to $100K and wanted to bed her, he would get her something nicer than a cheap little shot glass.

this is what you might do. get the kids together and make something for her. each of you take something that you Cherish and make one thing out of them it could be a collage of pics or some of the kids buttons and a tie with something from grandma also. Just something from the family. you said it don't have to be expensive and would tell her that she is important, remember it's not the gift it's the thought.

Yes, purchase her a half day at a nice spa. You should purchase a deluxe pedicure and manicure, facial, and a full body one hour massage. I think she will love it and depending on where you live you can purchase this for as little as $250. Women love going to the spa.

get her a birthstone necklace with your birthstone, her birthstone and the kids.

get a massage for two, a couple massage, very relaxing and the two of you can enjoy it together.

get her a digital photo frame so she can display many photos. They are sold just about everywhere, so you shouldn't have a hard time finding one. Good Luck and this is so sweet my man waits till Christmas Eve LOL
