First off, I don't believe there is such a thing as equal love. Next, if you are with a man that loves you more than you love him, you will end up disrespecting him because he will be wrapped around your little finger and predictable, and that my friend is very boring. Lastly, to be with someone that you love means that you run the risk of becoming the boring one in the relationship, but it does put you in control. If you can love someone, and make the relationship stay interesting, then you have a chance at lasting love.
And as a footnote, I would like to add that I don't believe in love as a "feeling". I like to think of love as an action word...you have to show someone you love them. People now use the term "I love you" so easily.

Definitely No:3!!!!
No matter how much one person tries to make a marriage work, if there's not an equal commitment from the partner, then it can all become too hard. Better that both love EQUALLY, and be equally committed, than trying to run a three-legged race when only one person is moving towards the goal.

Go with 3. Equal love.
As for #1, if he loves you more than you love him you wouldn't ever be fully happy and with #2 the same thing except it would be him that would never be happy.
Unequal love relationships never seem to work out in the long run.

Love is never as easy as that. 1.2.3.
Love someone with most of 2 and 3, but remember that you will want to be with someone that will have something to say once the thrill is gone. Not that it doesn't come back, but during the time your loving doesn't amtch, make sure you have a good friend and companion.

I have been in situation number 1 and that definitely won't work for me. I'm very happy in my current relationship and it's very close to equal love. I think it needs to be close to equal or I would think problems will be likely.

You definitely need to have equal love. A relationship is a two way street. One should not give more than they get.
