And why is it we Bisons are never the subject of old american folk songs...hmmmm??? First one to come up with one gets best answer.

I know of an old folksong once heard by Lewis and Clark it goes: The Lord is gonna buy me some bison

The reason that they arent the subject of many fold songs is that we generally study and listen to american cowboy/cowgirl folklure.
I you drop into some the indian folk stories and legends you will see that the bison is the subject off many songs.

You ever try to milk a bison? The cattle gave in too easy. Gave them everything they had. They may have nearly killed us off, but you don't hear about any bison cheese, at least not in polite company.

Maybe because the Indian people revered us more . They used bison for food, clothing and utensils. They knew our value and nearly worshipped us for this.
