My regular stuffing gets the bread cubes, onions and celery that were sauteed in butter, salt, pepper, and poultry seasoning to taste as well as a bit of water. My oyster stuffing gets all that other stuff and oysters. Yum! (I don't like oysters any other way!)

I use fresh herbs - parsely, sage, rosemary, and thyme. Bacon, carrots, onions, celery, garlic, and broth. I also put in an egg to help it hold together after baking. I don't stuff the turkey with it, I bake it seperately while putting aromatics in the turkey. This enables me to cook the turkey in a way that lets the white meat not dry out so much.

I love plain ol' Stove Top, but I make it with chicken broth instead of water and I add celery and onions. Yum!

For us, there absolutely *has* to be plenty of chestnuts in it. Sooo good. It's so hard not to keep snitching them out of the left overs after dinner. lol

My grandmother from time to time used raisins. Plus, do not forget the sage.
