Most definitely not.

I have no idea what People Choice of VMA is. I do know that show business is a business. A nasty business at heart. Giving someone an award is recognition of their merit in the "real world." More people in everyday situations should be rewarded and recognized more than they commonly are. Show business is shameless self promotion. Telling them they should be ashamed of their methods will only only get a derisive laugh if you suggest it to them.

Interesting perspective.

H-E-Double Hockey Sticks NO...they already get paid...and PAID paid, so then they get an award on top of it? One word - EGO....

I can think of a quite a few other no-paying/low-paying/award free more important jobs out there.....

What irks me the most, is people that are in the spotlight....and then complain about how they have no privacy.....HELLO?!?

Sure - why not. I get an end of the year bonus when the firm does well.

The awards shows are more about making more money though. All those advertising dollars coming in....but if people will watch ...

A LOT of people get various awards for their jobs...it's just not publicized as much as celebrity awards. (no money to make)

I think this awards/shows are all about publicity ,not rewarding the celebrities ,finally making more money from the events.

well some work places to give awards, like bonuses, employees of the month that get gifts. When we have had a ghard day at work the next day we get a plate of fruit or pastries... ect... for our department.
Just a different way of saying you did great, keep it up.

Good question.

The same goes for professional athletes. They have award ceremonies. However, pro athletes get bonuses from their contracts for winning these awards.

If artists get these same type of bonuses for winning awards than the awards should continue because us regular people get year end performance bonuses as well.

A star for your good question.

well in a way, yeah i guess it is a little unfair. but maybe i dont get shinny awards every year, but i do get my privacy, and can leave the house looking like crap & dont need to worry the world will see. so they can keep all the shinny awards. i like privacy!

I agree. These stars heads are big enough. No awards needed. There millions should be enough.
