Ok its a really hot day here in Vic,Aus. 37oC. and its not even summer yet. I luv the heat but after along day at work its not that great. and also i dont really get a good night sleep. Now i live in a small flat/apartment, my bedroom is upstairs, so hot air rises. Its always cold downstairs and i always shut the house up so that the hot north wind wont heat the house up while im gone. I also shut every curtain to keep the sun out. Now the house isnt mine, so installing airconditioning isnt an option. Opening my bedroom window doesnt really help as i get the north wind in which is warm not cooling. Getting a fan does nothing really except blow the hot air around. What can i do to cool my bedroom? its only the bedrooms that get hot.

Well, insulating with Bison hide is not the answer.

Seriously...Is the bottom floor air conditioned?...If so...a little duct work would do the trick. If not...find another flat..

that is what I do. once you've a container fan, positioned that on the start of your hallway so as that the cool air is sucked from the front room down the hallway into the bedrooms. once you've an oscolating fan, factor that in the route of her room and enable it do it really is element (flow aspect to aspect) which will flow the air round and blow air in her room. in case you do not suggestions having the kind of number of followers going together, i'd also positioned a small fan in her room to flow that air round too. I works extremely properly. in our position of residing the front room, eating and kitchen get freezing chilly, notwithstanding the bedrooms are continually nevertheless so warmth. until eventually i began doing this, their rooms were so uncomfortable, now that's much better! i'd also recommend for cooler nights a window vent. it really is actual a kind of belongings you install the window that sucks cooler air in w/o the hassel of a fan. good success & stay cool!

You should be able to pick up a portable air con for relatively cheap price. They work by pushing air over/through cold water, so you'll need to put water in it. Otherwise, make sure your curtains have rubber backing as this really keeps out the light and makes the rooms cooler.

I live in AZ, and I think if it were a mere 37C I would probably wear a parka or something like looking outside for penguins, but, my suggestion is put a window fan facing outside and use it as an exhaust fan upstairs, thereby pulling the cooler air up to your bedroom.
