I was probably the same: quiet, shy, smart, but sort of a loner. I only had a few close friends (4 or 5). BTW, I absolutely hated high school!
And now...? I am quite the OPPOSITE!
I am the most outgoing, fun loving, spirited person... : )

I get good grades (4.36)
I do sports(soccer, swimming)
I do happen to be in the band(by force)
Have lots of friends, both popular and nerdy.
Shop at popular places, but am nice to all.
So is there a 'middle'?

i'd say i'm between widespread/known. I dont loaf around with the populars yet i'm acquaintances with all of them. Being a loner doesnt depend - college doesnt depend while your out of school.

I was quiet, smart and shy in class, but I got along with everyone, i was a clique floater. ^_^ And i always had a boyfriend.
