It means there are two parts to the grief;
The first is the loss of bliss itself,
The second, recalling the joys of bliss now lost while mourning its loss.
There is by implication the idea that bliss may be lost forever.
Bliss here stands for happiness, and the pain loosing whatever gave you happiness.
In these philosophical sayings it is best to accept their emotional content and not delve into them too deeply.

The other members pretty much summed it up. The double grief, or second grief of lost bliss..Is to remember that bliss when you're going through a struggle. From personal experience for an example : Losing the one person that you truly love and turn to in hard times abandons you. You grieve, and you grow. But in future struggles, you look back on their company, and the support that they once presented you with. And you grieve and grieve again. The double grief of a lost bliss is to recall its happy hour in pain....It not only hurts to have lost, but it hurts to remember what once was when in pain...

Its a double grief or double sorrow: the sad thoughts are painful and even the happy thoughts are dulled by pain.

when in grief and sadness it makes the time more painful to remember that you were once happy and that happiness is lost to you

Sounds to me like remembering the lost "bliss" while in pain is twice as bad when in pain than when not in pain. Personally, I'd just forget the lost bliss and go to the bar at happt hour.
