I might be able to help, but I'm not sure I completely understand the nature of this question. I am assuming that this is refering to the "sheilds" that most countries in Europe have. These sheilds display an image of an animal in the center, sometimes a combination of two animals to create an ulmost mystical creature. The U.S. could very easily adopt an animal, and definately one that represented a "big brother" representation. When the U.S. chose the Bald Eagle as our national bird they started this tradition. If our "shield" were drawn I would imagine that we would portray the eagle as a bird of prey, possibly preying on other countries or at least governments. I hope this helps.
