Find things YOU like to do and go do them. People with similar interests will tend to be there. It's a start.

Speaking from personal experience, and the fact that I am the same age as you, I hope you will find this trustworthy.
I met my wife on an internet dating site called single parents meeting. It is a site for single parents with and without the children still living at home. There is no problem with sexually explicite materials here, and if you attempt to send anything sexual in the site, you are automatically banned from the site.
My wife likes to say I cost her $9.95, the cost of her membership. LOL.
the address is www.singleparentmeet.com and it is a clean site.
Also, Dr. Phil is endorsing www.true.com

Look in the paper for advertised singles groups who often get together on a Friday or Saturday night. They also come in different age groups sometimes. Other wise you could try on-line dating, but make sure you meet up at a public place like a cafe. Good luck

I am not married .but I can tell you where I met my future husband.. we both got involved in Habitats for humanity about two years ago.. and met there. I was there to help people and not to meet anyone.. but that is the way it turned out.
Give it a try. God bless your life.
And do NOT meet men or people on the internet. Just live your REAL LIVE LIFE right where you live.

Well just step back and breathe. Relax and enjoy some time alone. You will know when you are ready. Join a gym, volunteer, join a singles group. When you least expect it you will meet someone.
