Aurora can be hit or miss. You should add details and state the cross streets of where you are thinking of living so we can better advise you.
FYI, Aurora is far from the CU Denver campus. If I were you, I would try to live closer to downtown (where the campus is) or at least along the light rail. That way you won't have to deal with parking (the parking downtown near the campus sucks) and you can stay out late at bars and not have to worry about driving home under the influence. You can likely find a decent apartment in the $500 range in the Capital Hill or Uptown neighborhoods, especially if you are willing to live with roomates.
Good luck.

RE:
Aurora Coloado? Bad or Good? I am considering moving to Aurora Colorado in order to attend The University of?
Colorado-Denver. I have a place in mind, it costs somewhere in the range of $500 a month. I have read bad stuff about Aurora(including on yahoo answers) but if it was truly that bad then why does this place and others in the area cost so much? If it was a bad place to live, then wouldn't stuff...

Aurora is the third largest city in Colorado. As such, it has good and bad areas.
A real estate agent could give you better information than you'll find here. As could the University, which probably has a "housing office".

My parents moved to Aurora a few years back and they say it's the best thing they ever did. They love it there.
Bob is right, there are good areas and bad areas. You just have to be careful where you move to. Do a little research and have a good talk with your real estate agent. That's what they're there for.

Aurora has a nickname... Saudi Aurora... It was historically known for the low income, and questionable neighborhoods. Depending on where you will be living specifically you should be okay.
BTW, Univ. Colorado @ Denver is an Awesome school, I graduated from there.

My advice would be Capital Hill. I went to undergrad and grad school at UCD. My apartment was right off the # 2 RTD - which goes directly to campus. Cap Hill is funky, alternative, and cheap to live. You can walk to virtually everything that downtown has to offer. I would not suggest living in the burbs. The Denver burbs have a very empty pointless feel to them. Tons of students live on the hill as well.

Aurora? It is a cheap place to live but it isn't very good....it's like a suburb of Denver that is really cheap to live, kind of like the outlying mountain towns in Colorado, kind of a boring place to live but you are close to the "fun places" so it would be alright

I have lived in Aurora almost 25 years. There are parts of it I wouldn't let my dog live. I live in an area that is relatively safe, we will occasionaly have young kids who want to start trouble, but I think you can get that anywhere. If you let me know the cross streets, I can let you know if I would recommend living there.
