Wow, dragging the boxes of decorations down from the attic, or in other cases, up from the basement, do we get to a point that as we get older, it is too much of a hassel dto do it anymore?

I have all kinds of decorations for this upcoming time of the year, but, putting them all up inside and outside gets to me more and more work as I get older.

Do you have this same problem? How do you keep the holiday spirit alive thru decorations and take muscle relaxers at the same time?

Guess old age takes it's toll on once household decorations, what about you?

It's your house man, if you don't wanna put the stuff up, don't.

Take it from this Empty-Nesting Single Retiree ...

Although AGE does take a toll (on us physically),

I think in part that some of my desire to decorate LESS stems from the Fact that there are no Young Children in my HOME anymore ... so the 'magic' is gone and (believe me), I don't feel the need to decorate every bit of space inside or outside the home for the season.

With just me, it is quite a bit more subdued ... I won't have the animated decorations, but just simpler ... some twinkle lights from the Roofline as well as on the Bushes in front of the house, and just a Tree in the Great Room!

(Yes, I STILL like to see the lights at Christmastime, but ... over the past decade ... I see less and less homes decorating with lights for the holidays. Just doesn't seem to be something the folks do anymore).

If it feels good do it if it doesn't, let it slide. Getting old is just a way of life and it gets harder every year. Its not that we don't want to decorate as much as we used to, its just that we can't do as much. I guess the best thing to do is go for quality in your decorating and not quantity.

I noticed signs posted around the neighborhoods that offer "professional" house decorating for Christmas.
