No, there is no debors' prisons in the US. They would have to take you to civil court and get a civil judgment against you before they could legally collect from you.
But, keep in mind that a judgment will be reported to the credit bureaus under public records. In order to avoid that, just pay the debt.

Only if they are criminally charging you with theft. However, they can sue you for the remainder of the debt under various theories such as contract, restitution, promissory restitution, and promissory estoppel. (Which theory they use depends on the facts of the case.)

i had a guy arrested one time when he didnt pay me back so i lied too the police and said he stole the money from my home , he did almost two years for it
