My partner lightly touches me in various innocent places (arm, shoulder, hand, leg, knee, foot, etc.) many times during the day and it's such sweet, pleasant reminder that we are truly together, interested in each other and committed to being happily present without using words alone. This 'touching' is not a replacement for words (which we do use quite freely) but is a silent extension of loving, caring expression when talking isn't appropriate or needed.

I recommend the book "The Five Love Languages" by Dr. Gary Chapman. It explains the five types of ways to show and feel love. They are quality time, touch, gifts, acts of service and words of affirmation. Chapman says that we all have one or two primary ones. Your SO has the same. You need to discover if you have the same ones. If not, you must learn to "speak" the language that your SO wants. It takes extra effort, but it is worth it.

My husband works grave yard shift so Im usually sleeping when he gets home but he always comes into the room and kisses my lips and when he lays next to me he will stroke my hair or my face. I'm fifty and still love it! Is he aware of it, yes, I always wake up and tell him that I love him.

Telling me that he loves me every morning before he goes to work, When i'm cooking holding grabbing my waist and snacking on everything. Changing diapers when i'm don't want. If you have a newborn in the house, you couples out there know just what i'm talking about.

I like small gestures that indicate protectiveness almost as much as a kiss etc. Such things as placing his hand on the small of my back and guiding me as we walk, or placing his hand on my shoulder, putting his arm around me when it is cold...that kind of thing makes me feel secure and loved, and that he is concerned for my welfare.

He tells me to take care of myself...he brings me water or juice or whatever else I need. He also pops a pimple if I have one. I always complain about that but I think it's really sweet. :]

He kisses me goodnight each night (mad or not) and always puts his hand on my leg when we're driving...no matter what we're dealing with in our lives at the time. I love it and couldn't imagine my life without him there beside me :)

Everynight, he kisses me goodnight. No matter if we are happy with each other or upset - we always kiss goodnight. It's a reminder that life is short.

He works through issues with me and when it's over, he's very cuddly and affectionate and we're all back to normal again.
Yes, he knows. I tell him every day.
