I read a post on a forum that said "If you do not support the war on terror then you are supporting terrorism and you are a terrorist. You should therefore be subject to punishment".
Is this statement true, or is this person simply a right-wing nutjob?

Great so I'm attracting people who don't understand distinctions. There is a distinction between not supporting war and supporting terrorism. You do know there are other ways of stopping terrorist besides dropping bombs throughout the middle east. We could try securing our borders, enacting EFFECTIVE security at our airports, train first responders, be careful about who we let in. Withdraw our troops from Muslim "holy lands", and finally but certainly not least live our lives to the fullest without worrying about being blown up everytime we step outside our house.

You can be against war, that does not mean you are supporting terrorism. Also, just because someone has a different opinion does not make them a "right-wing nutjob".

How about this question. What if the tables were turned and we are at war with "terrorists" here in America, would those people who say "we don't support the war" still be thinking like that? OR do you think otherwise?

I really believe that if someone says that they don't support the war on terror, then yes, they do support terrorism. If you are not against terrorists who blow themselves up and kills innocent people, if you are not against terrorists who capture American soldiers and burns them, drags them, and then hangs them on a bridge for everyone to look at....then you are FOR terrorism. In other words, you are for evil. Plain and simple. You are either against terrorism or not.

I believe the statement is true. He is not a right-wing nut job, he is someone who is willing to fight the enemy who wants to kill you and us. Maybe you should look into it more of who these terrorists are and who we are really fighting.

No I think this statement is true. There are only 2 things in question here , you either support terrorism or you are against it. Nothing to do with right or left wing views. You have to know that terrorism is all about killing innocent women and children. How can that possibly be right.?

That sentence was very narrow minded. It based on true or false. However, there are many true and false among.

The most simple example is: terrorists are defined as someone causing social chaos (with violence). [This definition is narrower than the U.N. definition in which terrorists is someone causing social chaos with or without violence]. Then, when using war to against terror, you are terrorists also in definition.

Then, it goes back to " is war the only way to resolve terrorists?" If there are other ways, then you can be both against terrorists and against war against terror together.

Well lets see what does it mean if you are not AGAINST terrorism? You could be nuetral on the subject which means you don't care if people terrorize which means you allowing it; or you could be for it which means.....you are for it.

So I would say in both cases you are for it!
