I am wat u call "popular" (according to ALOT of ppl who wont stop telling me so) cuz im a cheerleader and i have great friends and an awesome boyfriend (who im not gonna break up w/ thnx to all the ppl who answered my question earlier) but wat is "popularity" anyway? it seems that everyone is tryin to be "popular" even if it means bein a wh ore who will do anything for attention. shouldnt we just be ourselves and that will make us popular in our friends and everyone else (dont ask sounds kind of hippie)

There are different meanings of the word "Popular". It all depends by what standards others deam you popular. If you start doing things that are wrong to be popular, then you're saying that it's okay to act like a fool at others expence. If you start doing things that are right and good (which won't be easy) then you'll know who your real friends are.

you are correct when you say that every one is trying to be popular..A person is popular when he/she is liked by most people or by most people in a particular group. To become popular is an art and many times it is a inborn quality.But it is never to be achieved at a cost of self respect. Popularity gained by dubious means will never last long.
