Recently I learned that there are less than 50 (I hate when news outlets come up with a benign approximate like that...how about a specific, say 47?) World War One veterans living in the U.S. What does this have to do with hockey, you ask? I would love to know who the oldest living ex-NHL is...

Although he only played a total of 9 games in the NHL, I think the oldest living ex-NHL player is Jean Bourcier. He will be turning 97 early next year.

I think the second oldest still living is Louis Holmes, who is 26 days younger than Bourcier.

Still searching for how to confirm if players are still alive...
The site doesn't help much for that.
