I know that using the alt key and the calculator numbers you can type special characters. But the problem is that I am using a laptop and I don't have an idea of how to do it.

First you have to activate the Number Lock. Usually that means typing the SHIFT and NumLk keys at the same type.

Then you do ALT and enter four digit keys like you do on a desktop keyboard. The trick here is that you don't hit the usual 0-9 digit keys at the top of the keyboard. In this case, 0 is the M key, 1 is J, 2 is K, 3 is L, 4 is U, 5 is I, 6 is O, 7 is 7, 8 is 8 and 9 is 9. My laptop keyboard have a second label on these keys.

Try it. For example ALT-0193 is a capital A with a "acute accent" (diagonal dash) on top, and you'd get it by ALT-MJ9L after doing the NumLk.

You have to hold one of those those laptop keys that turns on the number pad, which overlaps with part of your keyboard. It's probably labeled "num" or something like that.
