I see this here on this site and I've come accross it twice recently - I never heard this until recently - is this a new thing?
Why use such a derogatory word? It seems that a women can be single and on the dating scene and get called a whore, a woman is dating a married guy (ok its contensious, but a whore is surely extreme? )

that's a great question!! i think the women on here who go that far are probably bitter about a cheating husband and vent some of that anger towards the women on here who admit to dating married men. Instead of blaming both parties women tend to blame the women. Inno I think you're on the something here. It'll be interesting to see some of the responses you get.

Whore

1. A prostitute.
2. A person considered sexually promiscuous.
3. A person considered as having compromised principles for personal gain.
intr.v. whored, whor·ing, whores
1. To associate or have sexual relations with prostitutes or a prostitute.
2. To accept payment in exchange for sexual relations.
3. To compromise one's principles for personal gain.

I personally I have only called 2 women whores, within reasons of course and these women have done what is described above. I wouldn't say it to anyone online since it doesn't make any sense because I don't personally know them.

I think it is a sad state of affairs when people think it is okay to use that sort of language and think it doesn't mean anything. I think it is more telling of the person who used it than the person they are trying to insult.

Although the shoe may fit some people, it's still rude and it's still against the rules for YA.

You obviously have been called that huh. I personally would not worry about it espically if its not true. Who cares what others think you know they are wrong so forget about it.

I would say it is lack of respect, no education, In my opinion, I am with you, there is no need to insult anyone.Or they are personally insecure, it is sad.
