I keep hearing about the possible collaspe of the America dollar, and all the horrible implications that it could have. I'm really concerned. Should I convert my savings into euros or the yen?

Anything is possible. If you're worried about it, diversify your portfolio with stocks, bonds, foreign currency, IRAs, silver and gold coins, you name it. And make sure you have lots of friends, particularly friends who love you, maybe even friends who know how to grow food, find water, and make shelter.

Or you can take the other route, and just have faith that you'll be alright. Besides, like that Cake song says: as soon as you're born you start dying, so you might as well have a good time.

You mean the United States, right? America is a hemisphere, or at least the whole continent.

No. Because a Third world country was never developed. The US has been developed.

You might consider Euros, UK pounds, or silver or gold, but the easiest currencies from here are Mexican or Canadian.

The reason the dollar is falling is because of the sub-prime mortgage debacle. I think however that the Fed Reserve has been asked by the President to fix it and has decided that if the dollar falls enough then inflation of greater than 20 % will fix the price of the homeowners equity by making homes worth 20 percent more. (I have no justification for this thought at all and I am not trying to be subversive, merely cynical).

Its a big problem, and if you have substantial dollars then sell them for something that holds value.

Can the planet do a polar shift yes, but all sides will be affected with disaster.

Feast and Famine is a cycle as much as night and day.
A neccassary balance.

Besides the rat race is for the most part a wastefull insane unfullfilling lifestyle , never enough but always wasting more than enough.

I would convert to owning a piece of land with some cheap living on it, where the property taxes are cheap as well. Not in the cities.

you Should DEF be concerned. if you've studied history you'll know that all the number 1 countries/ lands have eventually collapsed. America, due to it's HUGE debt and the rise of the asian countries makes it very probable for it's collapse. look at our bonds situatoin, if china and other countries haven't been buying them we'd be dead by now. anddd they've SERIOUSLY slowed down their buying b/c the american dollar is goin down the drain, which brings me to say, to invest in gold and silver, cash is just paper, when inflation is positive, cash won't be worth more than toilet paper, whereareas gold and silver are metals and ARE precious.

but if you want to invest in money invest in Yen. it's gonna go wayyy up eventually

NO. Its is possible we could lose our dominate economic position in the world as others have done before us. England and before them the Netherlands had a period of economic dominance, and they lost it but they are far from being third world.

sure, with the present financial fears, it rather is attainable that u.s. would desire to develop right into a third international u . s .. this may be reliable information to three, particularly to those that hate u.s.. to a minimum of one/3 international international locations, regardless of the shown fact that, particularly to those whose economies matter on the financial equipment of u.s., it rather is a daunting element. it is going to likely be like a domino consequence. Who would want that? in my opinion I hate lots of the flaws, the abuses extremely, that u.s. is doing to different international locations, maximum particularly to the third international international locations. yet i don't wish it to develop right into a third international u . s . because of the fact countless the financial equipment of the international relies upon on u.s., as already stated above.
