A positive answer is definite, but a negative answer is not. The hormone which tells you that you are pregnant is sometimes not strong enough to show up for 3-4 weeks. I tested negative until week 4. If your test is positive though, there is no doubt. If it is negative, try again after two more weeks, unless of course you have had your period by then. You may have been pregnant but lost it, which is extremely common. Apparently, about 70% of conceptions result in early miscarriage without the woman ever having known they were pregnant! They just think they missed a period. Good luck either way.

It really depends on your menstrual cycle. If you have a regular 28-day cycle, then you should probably be able to tell. If your cycle is shorter, then you should definitely be able to tell. If your cycle is longer, then maybe not. If you have an irregular cycle, you can try to take a test. If it's positive, then you ARE pregnant. If it's negative, then it's possible you aren't pregnant, but it's also possible you are.

For me, I had sex on July 1, took a pregnancy test on July 17 and it was positive. I have a 25-day cycle and I knew the day I missed my period that I was probably pregnant.

You should always track your periods so you know when you start. This helps your doctor when you go for annual physicals, helps you track whether your periods are normal or not, helps prevent period accidents, and also helps in case you do get pregnant or think you're pregnant.

It depends on where you are in your cycle and when you had sex. Not just the date you last had sex. You can start testing 4 or 5 days before you expect your period but if your hcg levels are low you might get a false negative. The safest thing to do is wait until you expect your period. If it's 2 or more days late, take a home test.

I was just looking at this yesterday. Apparently the hormone that tests detect (H.C.G.) is present from about 7-10 days after conception. The longer you wait, the higher the levels get, so I'd wait another week or so, if I were you, just incase.

wait to see if you get your period on time. If not take the test. Preferably at the doctors. Blood test is far more accurate and if you take a pee test too soon it may say your not pregnant when you actually are

It is best to wait just a week or so more; nothing gained by knowing at this moment, because if you are you have time to make decisions. If you aren't, you'll soon have a period and another chance to get pregnant (or not, depending on your choice).
Relax, and wait awhile longer. And if knowing this means you hope you aren't, make better choices if you aren't pregnant. Don't let your peace be disturbed by making bad choices.
If you want to be pg...congratulations ahead of time. If you don't want to be, choose how to prevent it. Have a great day.

My husband and I have been trying for baby #2 and my Dr said to wait until I miss my period because it's a waste to try sooner(unless you spend big bucks on the expensive tests that detect pregnancy 5 days before a missed period.)I'd wait until at least 5 days before a missed period.Good luck:)

You could tell even sooner. Yes it would be accurate tomorrow with a home detection kit. Going to a lab would be most reliable.
