Sherryn......Exactly! Given Kermit and Miss Piggy, the "creators" could be just having fun since the kids are oblivious!

Yes, and Snuffleupagus was taken off because his name sounded like a drug reference. The thought police have really done a number on that show! Who cares if they are gay? Why did they take them off the show?

It's amazing how a person or persons can take a wonderful children's show & turn it into something sexual. Sesame Street is a great learning show for children. So one day, someone decides to mess with this wonderful show & announce that Bert & Ernie are gay. Bert & Ernie were friends last time I watched it with my grandchildren. They never bathed together when I watched it. Miss Piggy & Kermit the Frog do not have a thing going on. What next?

I grew up in the 70s, and it never crossed my mind that they were gay. I always assumed they were friends, like Oscar and Felix from the Odd Couple.

Sesame Street is for young children, most of whom are under the age of 12. So, I do not think sexuality factors in here.

Is that why the Cookie Monster was always hungry? I never heard this before. Yet, it makes perfect sense to me. Add Kermit & Miss Piggy & geez, that show sounds like the Presidential Election Candidates! I hope they don't start rubbin' their Muppets!

I sincerely doubt that the creators of Sesame Street and the muppets had that in mind.

I don't know how these things get started. My grandaughter told me that too. I said living with same sex friends does not mean anything . I lived with my girl friend before I was married and we needed to , to save on expenses. A lot of us unmarried nurses did , in order to save money. We got paid next to nothing in the 60's.

Not really -- they may be real good friends, but I truly don't believe they're equipped to consumate the gay theme. So they CAN'T be friends with benefits.

I think it's weird for anyone to assign a sexual identity to a fictional character. Especially a cartoon character.
