As I stated before I have never been able to adapt to the APA style requirements and I am aware that many classes require it, so I know this course is exactly what I will need to survive the remaining that I have here. I know it will be a challenge because I have grown accustomed to writing the improper way.

Do you mean, how can you "improve" it?
Well, I don't know how you approve it but to improve it I think you should make it a little longer and cut the first sentence into two or three. A paragraph is usually 5-7 sentences, and this one is kind of short.

Its not exactly a paragraph. That's only a few sentences. Narrow it down to more sentences and add more details.

make the first sentence shorter...as it is almost your whole paragraph....But, hey, sounds good.....
