The reason why I'm being so weird is because Anthony's (the person throwing the party) family is a little weird.

If you're younger than twelve, yes. 12+ you should hurry up and call now because it's probably okay but maybe the family doesn't like calls past 9:00.

I think for some people 9 o'clock is a time when they don't want phone calls after. But i think your just making it. And if there younger and don't have kids... anytime before 10 would be fine.

At least you are calling to let them know that you will not be there. I am wondering what the reason is that you are not going? Is it that you got a better offer? If so, shame on you.

well, it depend on the age of the person you're going to call and what day of the week. if not you've 15 minutes before nine. to me you could call anytime but midnight.
