I need help with an agriculture hands-on activity for a class of about 15 high schoolers. It can be related to any topic in agriculture. Any ideas welcome!

How about doing a project where you demonstrate how to make ethanol out of corn? It's very popular these days and a useful skill for anyone under 21. If you really want to make it scientific, you can set up two ethanol production groups, one from corn, one from beets or sugar cane. Be sure to do the entire mass balance and energy balance aspects (including the entire CO2 balance of the entire process and the amount of net energy from corn vs beets or cane).

Try growing two plants, one as a control-and one with added fertilizer. Same sunlight and water, but see what the added suppliment does.
