To put it bluntly, in the first 60 days they can fire you for any reason. If you do the job well ( performing a according to McDonald's standards) , do not have cash shortages or problems with employees or customers (no discipline problems), and show up when scheduled on time for work (have good attendance) you will have no problems!
They want to be sure that you are going to be a good worker, and not cause them problems! If at the end of 60 days, you are working out well, they end the probationary period and you are considered a "regular" employee.
In the first two months, they can fire you for any reason! After you pass the probationary period, they have other policies and procedures!
Go to work, be on time, work hard, and you will be fine!!

That means that for the first 60 days they will be keeping an eye on you and if you have any discipline problems or bad attendance or just aren't working out they can let you go without letting you have notice that you need to improve. Depending on what state you live in they can still fire you without giving you a reason after the probationary period is over, but normally they need to give you notice and a chance to improve after the probationary period is over.
The probationary period lets the employer get rid of you without documentation when you have problems.
