Go to the hardware store and buy a bottle of "Goo Gone". It will remove the tape residue and will not harm the finish.

this may sound weird but take some duct tape and pad the sticky side on the residue it left (dont stick it on) and every time you pull it off some residue will come with it

get a spray can of brake cleaner it will remove it and not harm your paint. just put a little coat of wax on the spot you removed the residue. and you will be good to go. also this works on bug and tar removal as well
good luck

Get your sis to use a little of her nail polish remover, but don't use to much at one time, Dr's use something similar to this to remove tape from patients.
