Even if the US as a nation did not exist, I would still live in this land due its abundant resources. However, land itself would have likely been under the rule of an Indian (Native American) Confederacy if white Europeans had not arrived and conquered them.
As for another country, I would prefer Spain.

Been to Mexico or Venezuela lately? Either of them would be more powerful than Australia and New Zealand put together since neither has much oil or anything else valuable (and they are way more aggressive). The Middle East would rule. Do you think living in a non-aggressive (wimpy) country like N.Z. would be pleasant in a world without the U.S and countries like some of the others we have today?
I'm glad there are people like you in the world, it makes life easier for peope like me. ;)

America is a Continent both North and South, so if neither existed, I guess I'd be stuck in the middle of the ocean, where the continents used to be hoping they come back before I get tired of treading water.
