I thnk it can only be exponged if he was later found innocent. He is also only just now 7 years from having "served his debt to society". He will be able to get his voting rights back at some point, I am not sure he will ever be able to remove a violent crime like armed robbery from his record unless he was a minor at the time. People are held accountable for violent crimes and those involving handguns for much longer than other crimes. Since his crime was not emotional, he could theoretically pick up a gun any day of the week and rob someone again as far as society is concerned. As long as he chooses not to do that, employers will eventually place less emphasis on that part of his history. He is 7 years in the clean of it - but if he did it as an adult, he crossed a line that society is very reluctant to forgive. There is not way to prove that one would not repeat an act, once you have done the act as an adult.

It is possible, in most states you can after 3 years or after completion of P.O supervision. But if their are any sex crimes or violent crimes against a miner their is no chance. your friend can talk to a lawyer most of them will give one free consult at least they do here. The cost is around $600. I am going through the process right know .I had 3 felony aggravated assault against police officers, and one criminal use of a prohibited weapon. I say it is worth a try. Life will be much easier.

That relies upon on the state. some states supply for expungement of a legal, often 10 or greater years after the of entirety of any sentence and parole or probation. different states in no way expunge a legal. At any fee, you are going to would desire to look for suggestion from with an lawyer. he or she would be able to point you of your interior sight rules on the priority, and commence the ball rolling while (and if) you're eligible.

Well at age 18 his record is expunged. I think it depends on how old you are and if you make any deals where they can wipe the slate clean.

it may be possible, especially if he was a minor when it happened. the thing is, it's not completely "sealed." if he were trying to get a government job or enlist in the military, they are able to access "expunged" records.

No, your "record" is public information and nothing can be taken off or hidden.
