Guys do not have to get circumcised. In fact, circumcision has fallen out of favor by a lot in most places. I'll talk about the rates a few sentences after this.
I'm against it on children. By leaving your son uncircumcised, if he's not satisfied with it he can always get cut and end up satisfied in the end. I think the surgery should be open to adults, but if done as an adult, it should be a heavily researched one to avoid what you did, for example. Mostly, I believe in personal freedom and choice. One survey found that about half of circumcised guys would have preferred to had made the decision themselves:
http://www.jackinworld.com/qow/q15.html
That may play a part into why circumcision rates have fallen so much. For example, circumcision rates were as high as 90% back in the 1960s and 1970s (that's partly why today's adults are so... brainwashed, I supposed you could say, about thinking that circumcision is better) but they have fallen to as low as 14% in some states. Here are the statistics:
http://www.cirp.org/library/statistics/USA/staterates2004/
The USA is the last developed nation doing circumcision on a significant scale without medical or religious reasons. That means Europe and Japan (and Latin America and China, for that matter) don't circumcise. Circumcision rates in Australia and Canada are low, and in Africa... it varies by nation/tribe. Here's a worldwide map that gives you a general idea of where circumcision is common:
http://www.circumstitions.com/Maps.html
So now there are many more uncircumcised boys. They don't get made fun of anymore due to that (I know, I'm one and I'm 18, a pre-med student).
In addition, there are medical reasons that I'm against it, too. For example, studies have found that it reduces sensitivity:
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,285532,00.html
Makes masturbation more difficult:
http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1464-410X.2006.06646.x
Which makes sense, that's how it was made popular in the USA:
http://english.pravda.ru/science/health/27-03-2006/77873-circumcision-0
Increases erectile dysfunction rates:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=14979200&dopt=Abstract%7C
There's pain involved, often why doctors don't want you in the room when it's done:
http://www.cnn.com/HEALTH/9712/23/circumcision.anesthetic/
http://www.cirp.org/library/procedure/plastibell/
If too muck skin is removed, that can reduce the size of the penis. The way that works is because the penis needs some skin to expand during an erection. Removing too much skin can limit the expansion. An urologist and pediatrician explain that below:
http://www.altermd.com/Penis%20and%20Scrotal%20Surgery/buried_penis.htm
http://drgreene.org/body.cfm?id=21&action=detail&ref=1125
Of course, there are other risks associated, but those are typically the ones due to surgery. You can also see rebuttals to common pro circumcision arguments below. You can research it more here:

As far as cleaning goes, it's really simple. For the first years in life the foreskin doesn't pull back. That prevents stuff like poo/fecal matter from touching the head. Later on all it takes it 5 to 10 seconds to pull the foreskin back and rub the head; it even feels good.

And Christianity does not ask for circumcision. There are very critical parts on circumcision in the Bible, and the Catholic church actually condemned the procedure.

Nobody has to be circumcised.
In fact, outside of the Jewish and Muslim faiths, and the USA, it's pretty rare. Most men in the world are never circumcised and never have any problems.
Some people try to promote circumcision for reasons of health and hygiene, but none of their claims have been proven, rates are dropping, and washing and using condoms is better than chopping off the sensitive skin.
Ben below me basically gives the reason the barbaric practice is continuing - because men don't like to face up to what they are missing by leaving their sons intact. Ben wishes he weren't circumcised, but he isn't man enough to give his son the choice he was robbed of. Nice.

I can tell you that many men are trying to have their foreskin reconstructed. Circumcision removes many sensory nerves and as a result, prevents full sensory pleasure. If you think I am crazy, do a search and see for yourself. The only thing to be said for the practice would be hygiene, and if people just take care of the personal hygiene of the baby, there will be few problems. Why not remove the appendix or the tonsils and adenoids from newborns, too.

Except for some religious reasons, guys DO NOT have to get circumsized.
Many parents request it for their new baby boys, however, because they think it has some hygiene and/or health advantages. Both of which are not really true.

A circumcision is a surgical procedure where the foreskin is removed from the penis. It's usually done shortly after birth because A: the baby is already at the hospital so it saves a trip, and B: the baby is too young to remember having his sausage sliced. So to answer your question, no--no guy is born circumcised.

Males get cirumcised for many different reasons. Medical research has found that circumcision beneficial in reducing health problems. For example, studies have shown that circumcised males were less likely to contract sexually transmitted diseas and HIV.http://sti.bmj.com/cgi/content/abstract/74/5/368 Some males get circumcised for religious reason also. Most notably Jewish males and Muslim males. Futhermore, some males are circumcised for cultural or traditional reasons.
After experiencing life both uncircumcised and now cirumcised, i'm convinced that circumcision is a valuable procedure.

guys do not 'have to' get circumcised.
In two major religions (Islam and Jewish) there is the religious reason for circumcision.
In some cultures it is a ritualistic coming of age thing.
In a very few areas it is widely done for all sorts of reasons none of which really hold water.

They don't. Most men would not like to be circumcised. However, since this procedure is done when they are only days or even hours old they have no say in the matter.
Circumcision is for cosmetic (or religious) purposes only. And frankly, it doesn't make it any prettier.

No man has to be circumcised, in fact the majority of men all over the world are not.
Only the US, Israel, The Phillipines, and Muslim countries practice routine male circumcision.
I'm not circumcised and I'm very happy I'm not.
