I was thinking about this myself the other day, with china becoming more and more powerful as an economic giant and as military might, the question of whether China will surpass the united states cannot be ignored, the short answer is yes if they continue on there currant path, but history does show that communist dictatorships or any other from of dictatorship cannot stand for ever, where governments that treat there people with great deal of respect, such as England witch has been around for 500+ years seem to stand the test of time. Although it may seem that America is going into some of its worst times, people often forget that it is almost a rutein cycle America must go through to bounce back to be great, after all if it were not for the great depression America may not have exploded like it did in World War 2. So in ten years I think not allot will have changed, just the world in which America lives. Does that make since? Sorry to have taken so long to answer your question, I just love this type of thought.

Ten years from now, if you speak English to the wrong person, they will look at you like you are nuts and curse you out rudely in a long diatribe that you won't understand (like Canada). If you need a bypass or other major operation, you will have to wait longer than you life expectancy for it (like Canada). Our military will be nothing but Admirals, Generals and Bands (like Britain). And most of us will never have a job (like Britain). Most people will never need to worry about being beaten up, beause most people will have no idea of how to fight, but will all be very frustrated due to growing up with in a place where competiton is forbidden since it is aggressive (I'm a fan of non agressive boxing and soccer myself). Hey, sounds like a great place to me.
