Compare the intensity of the lights with the UV content of sunlight. If it's no greater, just dress like you're going out into bright sunlight. You've heard all the hype about covering up, wearing hats and sunglasses (be sure they block UV), and using sunscreen. Our body actually needs some UV light to synthesize vitamin D2.

Ultraviolet lights can be bad for your eyes, wear protective sunglasses. Laundry detergents today have a dye in them that reacts to ultraviolet light. You will glow if you wear bright white clothes, but not get cancer. UV lights are used in tanning salons. Cover your skin if you do not wish to get a tan. There is UV in sunlight. Use sun screen.
