My c-section was performed because my daughter was badly tangled in her cord causing her heart rate to plummet with each contraction.

I healed beautifully and really want a vaginal birth this time. Please share your personal experiences. I have done extensive research and am well aware of risks/benefits and statistics so please don't paste a big babycenter article. I am interested in your experience.

My doctor delivers at the best equipped hospital for delivery in GA. I see her on the 26th and I will find out then if she allows it (I know the hospital does).

I tend to make small babies, only 4 lbs 15 ozs does anyone think this will encourage my doc to let me? I also take excellent care of myself during pregnancy.

Not my own experience, but I asked my sister (emergency c-section then two VBAC's) and she said I could post for her.

She LOVED her VBAC's. She didn't have to wait in the recovery room for 6 hours waiting to be able to move her toes before holding the baby herself. She could hold the boys more comfortably instead of on her incision. She says the benefits outweigh the risks (expect in the extreme cases where it IS necessary, benefits, less pain, less recovery time, she felt a tad more bonded to the children she could hole right away, she wasn't so scared during those births) and she wouldn't have it any other way. Her doctor was very encouraging, and that is what makes the difference, you have to find a doctor that is willing to let you try and support your decision. Good luck with everything!!

I had 3 c-sections and chose to have them after the first was failure to progress--he was 10# 71/2 oz at birth and 23". As a nurse, I have worked with women doing VBAC and my daughter who has had 2 c-sections wants to VBAC with this 3rd pregnancy.
Your situation requires you find a doctor AND a hospital that are willing to let you do this. The hospital has to have personnel who are on site to do a STAT c-section if either you or baby get into trouble. You said you know the risks so you know what I am talking about.
Some women just feel that the full experience of a natural delivery is what they want. I didn't want all that work or pain personally.
