Rock n roll is more or less a genre that is image over music. Think of bands like Van Halen, Kiss, Aerosmith and all of those punk bands. Why do you think the 30 and under crowd along with minorities listen to other genres? It's because rock n roll sucks. All rock n roll has done is ripped off the best genre of music... Country music.

The question reeks of naivette and inexperience.
It's the other way around. country now is what rock was 15 years ago. You are obviouslty too young to have an understanding that all music has good part and bad parts. And do you really think that rap/country/hophop and all the other genres are about anything other than image? Youre saying that country is bettre than rock, well thay aren't that different. Every generation thinks the previous generations music sucks, the next one to come along will think your sucks.
Don't worry, you'll get older and wiser eventually.
PS country sucks, get over it.

Rock n roll has played itself out. Every new song is a total rip-off of another song. And due to the internet, where everything is so egalitarian, there is no way for the best bands to bubble to the top. And what's worse, people seem to think that rock n roll is just so much more than what it is -- a form of folk music. In spite of the extreme superiority of classical music over rock, there is little support for classical. Try going to you tube, and type "spanish guitar", and see if any rock guitarist is half as awesome.

I for the life of me cannot understand why you care about what music other people like. I love R&R and R&B and also jazz and reggae and good swing music like you hear in the Louisiana Low Country and in Texas. Don't be so narrow minded. Broaden your horizens without making fun of other people... especially older people. Dude, that's just childish.
