They have made a big comeback lately. Always look at something that disappeared from the scene, bring it back, advertise it well, promote your product, and you can make a fortune.

I don't use them, now I use a blow dryer, and or just crunch my hair so it curls, it has a curl in it.

They're still there...alive and well. Only the curlers are more than likely either heated or steam rollers, the bobby pins come in rainbow shades with sparkles, and the curling irons are sized from 1/2 inch to 2 inch circumferences!!

Along with blow driers and ceramic bladed hair straighteners, you will find more than a few of these in various combinations in almost EVERY woman's bathroom.

The young kids wouldn't think of using curlers and bobby pins. Now they do have velcro curlers and the hot ones, that work in 3 minutes. ( G-d Forbid you have to actually wait for your hair to dry!!!)
I went looking for a new curling iron, and you can still find a few. However, they have been replaced by these things that look like a smooth metal crocodiles mouth. (Ask your grandkid what they're called!) :)

They're still around. Just bought some bobby pins the other day in the grocery store!...Same for curling irons and curlers/rollers. They can also be bought in any beauty supply store or drugstore.

They went the way of nylons, girdles, and garter belts! A few older ladies still use them. I used bobby and hair pins; did not need a curling iron because my hair has natural curl. But for the Brigitte Bardot look, I ( like others) used orange juice cans as curlers on my long hair.

I still have and occasionally use a curling iron.

Curlers.......no way. I hated them "then" and sure wouldn't use them now.

Bobby pins! WOW. Daily routine for me, pincurl it up early, take it down late afternoon.

Remember "Clippy's"....they came along and pretty much did away with bobby pins.

How about hairpins.....those thingies that were like bobby pins but wider and more flexible...good for holding the "bun" or "french twist" nice and firm.

And rollers.....yikes. I used to actually sleep with a headful of those things.

Well, I still use them now and then, just not the curling iron. They're the kinds of rollers with mylar loops instead of mesh and brushes, said to stay without pins, but they do loosen. Once in a while, electric rollers too. Curling iron is too much trouble and takes too long, one curl at a time. I like different looks.

I have a drawer with bobbie pins in it, hot curlers in the bathroom under the sink, and my curling iron in another bathroom drawer. How's that? I would say more but Nannie has interrupted me with a phone call.

They are still sold in stores. Curlers are called rollers now. You are asking for some major ear problems if you're going to use a bobby pin to dig out earwax. You could go too far & rupture your eardrum. If you have earwax impaction, buy an earwax removal kit.

Hopefully the garbage pits of America hold most of them. They shouldn't even be kept in a time capsule.
I can still remember my head aching from wearing rollers w/pins to bed.
