Note that RENAISSANCE humanism is NOT the same as more recent movements called by that name. To some extent it would be a bit better to think of it as "the humanities".

Perhaps the biggest influence of this type of humanism on the Reformation was the emphasis on the study (and translation) of ORIGINAL texts. It was careful study of the Greek and Hebrew Bible that sparked the Reformation.

Well, in the middle ages people thought that God determined their whole future. But humanist said that everyone was unique and that everyone could do great thing to shape their lives. They
And it helped the Reformation because people began to believe that they could start questioning the teachings of the Catholic Church. They thought that they could use their talents to create new buildings and discover new things such as the Earth is round not flat.
So in other words the people started being more open so new ideas could come in.
