Everyone's experience is different. If you want to be an actor, take some classes and see if you thrive in that environment.
good luck,

Nicole - I'm afraid I've forgotten a few specifics - this will take some research, but it's worth it. First of all, "The Stanislovsky Method" is one of the first books which fully explores the "quest" of the modern day actor - but, perhaps a bit TOO deeply.
That said, Marlon Brando shared an acting class with a woman - who's name escapes me - as well as the name of the book she wrote. However, I assure you this is THE book, which is currently out of print - but many copies have been sold over the years. Perhaps a good used - book store might offer further assistance.
The reason I mention this book is because it REALLY MAKES IT SIMPLER - perhaps a little TOO simple, if you know what I mean?
Maybe you don't. But I will say this - Hollywood is not a particularly brutish town - it isn't - but it can be. L.A. isn't a stranger to those who wish to explore their talent - and you will find most folks wish you luck - and keep their vanities in check (some small towns DON'T). However, there are few working actors in any city - and when it comes to films and TV, and their considerable salaries, the competition can be savage and downright cruel. Really.
I don't wish to discourage you - you know the rewards can be rather handsome, indeed. I could go on and on - look it up.
GET THE BOOK.

basically acting is as hard as you want it to be, for example if you are playing a role of a bar tender, its pretty basic to get into character and of course you need to know how to display the right emotions but thats probably as far as it goes, basically acting is a big lie, a big con, you have to convince the people who are watching you that you are that person you are portraying. There are millions of actors/actresses but the ones who can throw the boat out there and con all the people who watch them that you can feel there emotions etc. Also depending where you live, there should be a few stage schools around which will train you for everything you need to get the ball rolling into fame, you should go for it and good luck if you do

personally, i was born a great actor, but if your not to well, get lessons, the trainers usually get you an agent, and then you audition. But training for it isnt to hard, you just go over plays and quotes ove and over, and learn to emphisize tings.
