Back when i was growing up we went to Church on Sunday and after Sunday morning Church we would go to Grandmother's house or home and have family come over for Sunday Dinner. I miss those Day's. How about you?

Yes I do.. but TIMES are changing. We have to ask ourselves what brought on that change of times. I see it happening in my own family. Miss the past sure but nothing we can do bout that. We live in too far pass life that seems like family isnt a family anymore. Yeah I remember exactly how you described it as I did also. Grand ma isnt here anymore and us Grandma's now dont give a crap anymore if we have families surrounding the table anymore. I use to have get togethers with my immediate family but its gotten out of kilter here, so now just worrying bout hubby and myself. So you say, K is heartless old bag..LOL Nope that's the new trend now..

I do so miss those days. Getting together with cousins and havin' fun. Now we live almost 1000 miles away from my big family. My family of 4 has a tiny Thanksgiving, just us. But we do have friends that stop by for dessert. My kids aren't close to their cousins and I don't even talk to any of mine any more. I haven't been up to Indy since 2004.

You know I think Kitty is right. My parents don't try to keep our family close. My siblings rarely talk, let alone get together. Everyone goes their seperate ways. Sad, really.

My side of the family gets together at a lot of holidays. The wifey's people get together at younguns birthdays and ifin none of them are for a bit then at least once a month. Up to any of the siblings if the want to partake. Guess a bit of days like ma and pa's days. Just start inviting people buy heather family or not to make the habit.

I'm one of the lucky ones I guess b/c I still have them. Not every week but at least twice a month. My family enjoys going over to my mothers house on the weekend and we catch up on each others lives and also help out where we can. Not forgetting about the reminiscing about the days when we were younger. LOL

we never went to grandmother's house. I never knew my grandmother. We did the church part but then went back home. Sorry you miss those days. You could restart the tradition.
